Susan and Richard’s cottage was such a winner for us. It is really well equipped with home comforts and so well located for many interesting day trips. We were made to feel very welcome and were given excellent advice about the local attractions. This is a great place to really relax and enjoy the rural outlook. Great hosts and great place.
The Coach House
A magical Christmas break. Thank you for the warm welcome. Log fire burning, tree lights sparkling and beautiful memories to take away with us.

We had a great time – everything we needed, lots of space, interesting things to do. Thank you Susan and Dick for another lovely holiday! We’ve had many rock pool adventures, sand castles, log fires and big family meals round your huge table. And lots of chocolate cake !!

What a lovely place to unwind; peaceful and ideal base for exploring the South East. Places we enjoyed visiting : Hook Lighthouse ( very interesting ); Waterford Crystal; Dunbrody Ship; Dunmore East ( pretty ); Kilmore Quay; Kilkenny ( Castle good, plenty of shops and eateries ). Would recommend L’Atmosphere French restaurant in Waterford. An excellent meal and they do and early bird from 5.30 for €20, 3 courses.

A lovely relaxing holiday in a warm and comfortable cottage, well placed for exploring the area. Had a lovely day in the sun at Hook Lighthouse, and at Dunmore East ( our favourite spot ). The Lemon Tree Café is well worth a stop for excellent coffee and cake. We preferred Wexford to Waterford; and don’t miss the drive up the hill opposite the JFK Arboretum for a fantastic view of the area. This has been our first visit to Ireland, but it won’t be our last. Thank you, Susan for the scones and jam and the fresh eggs.

We loved the cottage and gardens. Thank you, Susan for your warm welcome and gorgeous cake. We’ve enjoyed discovering this part of Ireland and with some searching we did find some good weather in amongst the rain ! The girls loved Hook Lighthpouse, rock pools, castles, and Dunbrody Ship. We particularly enjoyed going to Kilkenny and Woodstock Gardens. Very many thanks for a great stay.

Thank you, Susan and Richard, for letting us stay in your gorgeous cottage – Fruit Hill is truly a little piece of Heaven ! Even though we know Coach Cottage was far to big for just the pair of us, we thoroughly enjoyed the space. The cottage was beautifully kitted out with everything we required, and we thoroughly enjoyed the goodies you left for us. We will certainly recommend you.

Thanks for a lovely holiday. We have stayed in numerous houses over Ireland in the past 7 years and Fruit Hill has been by far the most outstanding. Our stay was everything we hoped for. It’s certainly a comeback. Thanks for everything. PS Shane wants to bring home the tree house.

We’ve had a very relaxing week in the comfortable and homely cottage. Great fires, comfy beds and chocolate cake ! Some of our highlights have been the Dunbrody Famine Ship at New Ross, Carnivan beach, Dollar Bay, and the Hook peninsula. We also took a two hour drive to Dublin and had a fantastic day. We have loved our first visit to Ireland and will be coming back.

A lovely introduction to this place, sadly very brief. It was magic to have so much space ! Thank you Susan for all your help and patience whilst we worked out a plan of action !
Had a fab day at the Waterford Harvest festival followed by the most glorious and friendly sea swim EVER at Guillamene and Newtown – just west of Tramore. I can’t wait to be back for weeks to swim daily in the fabulous sea water. Amazing ! Saw a beautiful sunset from Hook Head too.

Thank you for another wonderful stay at Fruit Hill. It’s been good to be here in Spring ( We have stayed here before in Summer ). This time we’ve explored JFK Arboretum and the hill opposite; we’ve had a trip on the Waterford and Suir Valley Railway – a lovely way to see beautiful river. Also Waterford City to see the shops. Today inland to Graiguenamanagh and back through Blackstairs Mountains. So sorry to be leaving tomorrow !
